About Marg Garvan
Marg Garvan is a qualified and practicing counsellor since 1996, possessing a Bachelor of Social Science (Social Welfare). She is the director of Ghandarva Institute, Ghandarva Wholistic Counselling and Sandplay Therapy Training Australia. Additionally, Marg has dedicatedly expanded her knowledge and skills, as follows:
- Post Graduate Diploma in Transpersonal Psychotherapy
- Is a Reiki Master
- Qualified Virtual Reality Therapist
- Qualified Reconnective Healing practitioner
- Conflict Resolution (Via NSW Community Justice)
- Voice Dialogue (Via NSW Community Justice)
- Sandplay Therapist and Facilitator (University recognised)
- Clinical member of ACA (Australian Counselling Association)
Marg’s Working History
In 1999 Marg Garvan joined John James and Hilary James; together they established a successful training facility (The Crucible Centre) for Personal Development, Transpersonal Psychotherapy and Sandplay Therapy. Within this team Marg, as a Director at the Crucible Centre, set both successful and innovative techniques in counselling using Sandplay Therapy and other techniques that professionally advanced counselling to the next level.
In 2000 they received accreditation from the Australian Government (via VETAB) for 2 courses they designed and facilitated at The Crucible Centre:
- Transpersonal Psychotherapy – Post Graduate level
- Sandplay Therapy / Facilitation – Certificate level
(VETAB accreditation ceased in 2005 due to excessive fees and thus proving not viable). In 2005 they gained course approval from ACA for a professional Diploma in Transpersonal Psychology.
In 2001 to 2012, Marg has followed her instinct and passion into professional counselling which covers both soul work and energetic healing to such expertise, that she can quickly identify her client’s issue/s and support them in making a positive transformation in their lives.
From Marg’s own experience, she sees the value in teaching skills to professional counsellors thus improving their ability to work with clients more effectively and not suffer “burnout” with new innovative techniques.
