Sandplay
Sandplay is a journey both the facilitator and the client walk together. It is an exciting journey not to be missed. For the practitioner it is a privilege to be part of the enfoldment of the client’s psyche and for the client it is a true revelation of their inner core. It encompasses everything both past present and future. It can sometimes reveal something so buried that we have forgotten.
Sandplay is a RAPID method that gets to the heart of the issue quickly and easily. It by-passes the mind. Clients get to see the information around which the original decision was made that has created the response to the behavior that they are displaying when they come in for therapy.
There is always a solution to be found . Either they have already put it in the tray or when you have worked with what the issue is you can ask the client to choose a piece that would help with the solution. In other words they will always come up with what is needed for change. It takes it out of your hands and empowers them.
The Modules are conducted over three-day weekends in comfortable surrounds in the Blue Mountains.
- Module one must be completed at the outset unless you have completed and can provide evidence of training in Sandplay elsewhere.
- Modules two, three and four can be completed in any order.
- Module five can be completed only after all prior modules have been completed or it can be demonstrated that you have attained a competency level to complete Module five.
- Module six - Attendees will need to have completed levels 1-5 above or have completed extensive training elsewhere in which case you will need to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL).
Module 1 Introduction to Sandplay
- Basics, meaning of symbols and synchronicity, what to notice in the tray.
- Understand how to use Sandplay Therapy as a clear diagnostic tool.
- Set up room, choice of pieces, learn some basic techniques and experience the method personally.
- Inner child, role of the victim and life-force.
- Illustration of case studies.
- Introducing the role of energy.
Module 2 Facilitation Techniques & Shadow Exploration
- Learn how to move the client from the mental to the deepest levels through attunement.
- Protection, boundaries and prevention of burn-out. Working with resistance.
- Recognising and working with the shadow in the tray.
- Parents, projection and transference. Ego creation and more on the Inner Child.
- Supervision and work with each other.
Module 3 Working with Children
- How to work with children using Sandplay.
- Investigate ways to increase your intuition and empathy.
- Effects of the birth.
- Learn extra tools we have created to support Sandplay with specialist clients, individually and in groups.
- Supervision and working with other professionals.
Module 4 How to Facilitate Sandplay in a Counselling Session
- Learn how to work with energy in the sand.
- Transference and projections. Protection and boundaries.
- Outdoor Sandplay’s.
- Supervision and working with other professionals.
Module 5 How to work with Relationships using Sandplay
Relationship Sandplay goes beyond the drama
and conflicts to bring consciousness to both parties.
It clearly shows the underlying core issue(s) so that
change can happen.
Over two workshops:
- Learn the techniques for successful relationship sandplay.
- Learn strategies to work with clients’ core issues and allow the intricacies and truth to be revealed in the sand. Once seen, this work can bring honesty and respect and promotes love and intimacy.
- See and understand couple’s games and bonding patterns.
- Be empowered to help clients reach mutual agreement and to make quick and lasting changes.
- The relationship is clearly laid out in the sand and, once seen, it offers causes and solutions that might otherwise be missed.
- Sandplay can teach couples and families to relate to each other.
- Sandplay Therapy brings empathy to both parties and helps to end the blame game.
- Learn how to do family statues in sand.
This module is ideal for all professionals in counselling who already use Sandplay Therapy.
This is an experiential course that will enhance the way you work with relationships – be it couples, families, business partners, parent and child.

Module 5 is conducted over two 3-day weekends. On completion you will receive a Certificate in Sandplay Therapy and Relationships.
Module 6 - Master Practitioner Sandplay
Over two workshops:
This Master Practitioner Sandplay course is unique and cutting edge.
These two workshops will provide further in-depth training
which will build on the skills learnt in Sandplay Levels 1-5..
The course will cover the energy systems within the psyche, including soul and archetypes.
The value of this course is enormous for the professional.
The experiential nature of the course means that every aspect is learnt and understood in a new way.
Course pre-requites
Attendees will need to have completed levels 1-5 above or have completed extensive training elsewhere in which case you will need to appy for recognition of prior learning (RPL).

Specific strategies & facilitation techniques will be taught:
- Birthing issues, including vanishing twins.
- Ways to deepen the gestalt process.
- Recognising when rituals are needed and when to use them.
- Learning when to work with the emotions and when to bypass them and move straight into deeper levels.
- How to work with these levels, such as self-value, soul purpose, inherited grief and repetitive issues.
- Discovering the major protections and deflections we use to hide the vulnerabilities that drive the personality.
- What methods to use when working with anger.
- Looking beyond the personality to work with the soul.
- How to recognise soul issues in the tray.
- Holding the space and being comfortable with silence.
- Using the Triggering Process to releasing the emotional pain related to bodily pains and illness.
This Masters course will elevate your skills so you can successfully facilitate your Sandplay Therapy sessions.
The Master Sandplay Training will give you the confidence – as well as the ability – to deal with any situation your client presents. The Master Practitioner Sandplay Training is an experiential course that will not only enhance your work with clients but
will also bring out your passion and creativity.
On completion of the course you will graduate with a Certificate as a Master Practitioner Sandplay.
